Dalyan Boat Trip on the "Orca"

Dalyan lies very close to Marmaris, where the river of the same name flows into the Mediterranean Sea and forms a wide delta of reed beds and flocks of birds. The area is known for its nature reserve: the long sandy İztuzu Beach, where Caretta caretta sea turtles nest, and the remains of the ancient city of Kaunos on the rocky shore.

İztuzu Beach stretches for five kilometres and is protected as a nature reserve, so no building is allowed along its shoreline. Here you can swim in the open sea, sunbathe and stroll along the water's edge without running into crowds of tourists.

Further up the river, among guesthouses and waterside restaurants, you can see Lycian tombs carved directly into the cliffs, while on the opposite bank, on the hillside, lie the ruins of Kaunos with the remains of ancient buildings. Boats gliding along the narrow river give the place its special, unhurried atmosphere.

At the end of the route, on the shore of Lake Köyceğiz, there is a small wellness complex with hot mineral springs and mud baths. The water here is rich in hydrogen sulphide and minerals. You can bathe in it and use the healing mud as a natural face and body mask.

The return journey to Marmaris runs along the Aegean coast on a large boat with a bar and music on the way, and the crew hosts games for those who want to spend the rest of the trip in a lively, fun atmosphere.
