Full description

The route begins with a drive from Marmaris towards the village of Akyaka. The first stop is the Avenue of Love, an old road lined with eucalyptus trees that were planted in 1938 to drain the area. Later, farewell scenes for Turkish films were shot here, which is how the avenue got its name.

Next, the group arrives in Akyaka itself, a coastal village on the Gulf of Gökova with distinctive local architecture. Here you switch to small boats and set off on a ride along the Azmak mountain river, with its clear water and green banks.

The route then continues towards Yuvarlakçay, a mountain area with a cool river, waterfalls and greenery. Restaurants line the riverbank, and lunch is served at one of them. After lunch there is free time: you can stroll around the park, swim in the river and take photos on the swings hanging over the water.

On the way back to Marmaris, the bus stops at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the town and its surroundings. On certain days, the route may include a stop in Köyceğiz, where a local fruit and vegetable market is held.

Tour program

  1. Hotel pickup
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel between 09:00 and 09:30. The exact time depends on your hotel and will be stated on your tour voucher. At that time, please be on the main street in front of your hotel or at the location specified by the tour organiser.
  2. Avenue of Love
The first stop on our tour is the Avenue of Love. More than a thousand eucalyptus trees were planted here in 1938 to drain the marshland, and over time the avenue became a landmark. Many farewell scenes in Turkish melodramas were filmed right here, which is how the place got its name. A short photo stop is planned here.
  3. River cruise
After a few more kilometres by bus, we'll switch to small boats and spend 30 minutes cruising along the Azmak River past the village of Akyaka. The crystal-clear water is so transparent that you can watch the fish and other river life as if in an aquarium. The boat offers stunning views of the village and the mountains.
  4. Akyaka Village
After the river cruise, you'll have 45 minutes of free time to explore Akyaka, shop for souvenirs, stroll around the village and swim at the beach.
  5. Yuvarlakçay
After an hour's drive from Akyaka, we arrive at Yuvarlakçay national park. It's very popular with both tourists and locals, especially in summer. A mountain river runs alongside the park, bringing welcome coolness during the summer months. This is also where the restaurant is located, and lunch is planned here. After lunch, you'll have 30 minutes of free time to explore the park on your own. The brave can take a dip in the cold mountain river, and girls can snap beautiful Insta photos on the famous swings.
  6. Köyceğiz Market
On Mondays, locals in the small village of Köyceğiz, on the shore of the lake of the same name, hold a small market selling fruit, vegetables and souvenirs. We'll make a 45-minute stop here for shopping and to soak up the local atmosphere.
  7. Return to Marmaris
On the way back, we'll cover 60 kilometres by bus with one technical stop at a petrol station, arriving in Marmaris by 18:00. Our drivers will drop you off along the town's main street, getting as close to your hotels as possible.
