Hotel pickupEarly in the morning, our bus will pick you up from your hotel at around 05:30. The exact time depends on your hotel and will be shown on your excursion voucher. The journey to the modern town of Selçuk, where the ruins of Ephesus are located, takes about 4 hours, including a stop at a petrol station.

Pottery workshopA stop at a Turkish pottery workshop, where craftsmen demonstrate traditional hand techniques for working with clay. You'll be introduced to this remarkable craft as the potters and artists show their work step by step. Those who wish can take part in a master class led by a craftsman. Any pieces you like can be purchased in the workshop's showroom.

Ancient EphesusThe highlight of the trip is a two-hour tour of ancient Ephesus. Together with your guide, you'll walk the city's ancient streets, stopping at its most important monuments. Our guide will tell you about them and give you time to explore and take photos. Over these two hours you'll see the Small and Great Theatres of Ephesus, the two agoras, the latrines, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Library of Celsus, and learn a great deal of new and fascinating detail about everyday life in this Roman city.

LunchAfter visiting ancient Ephesus, lunch is planned at one of the restaurants in Selçuk. Lunch is a buffet and is included in the price. Drinks are charged separately.

House of the Virgin MaryAfter lunch, we'll head to our final sight, the House of the Virgin Mary. It stands on Nightingale Mountain, 14 km from Ephesus. Today it is a Catholic church that was restored at the end of the 19th century. It is believed to have been built in the 5th century AD on the site of the house where the Virgin Mary spent several years of her life after fleeing Jerusalem. You'll have 30 minutes of free time here.

Return to MarmarisThe drive back to Marmaris takes just over 3 hours, and we'll arrive in Marmaris by 19:00. Guests are dropped off on the town's main street at points close to their hotels.
