Jeep Safari in Antalya

Picture a day full of dust from mountain roads, splashes of water and the smell of grilled trout in a village courtyard. An open-top 4x4 takes you along winding tracks through pine forests and pomegranate orchards, with views of the Taurus Mountains and the distant Mediterranean Sea opening up all around you.

The trip starts with a transfer from your hotel. Once the group has gathered, the jeeps head up into the mountains, passing through traditional Turkish villages. Along the way there is a photo stop at about 750 metres above sea level, where you can take in a panorama of mountains and valleys.

The group stops in one of the mountain villages to look inside the local mosque and see how the villagers live. Here you can soak up the atmosphere of traditional rural life and catch the scent of fresh pastries and herbs that the locals offer to guests.

Lunch is served at a restaurant by a trout farm. The menu usually includes grilled trout or chicken shish kebab on a wooden skewer, rice and a shepherd's salad, with an omelette or potatoes for vegetarians. Seasonal fruit and Turkish tea follow the main course. The lunch break lasts about an hour and a half.

After lunch, the programme continues with a swimming stop at a mountain river, where you can cool off in the fresh water. On the way back to the base you pass through one more village, and at the end of the day you can view the photos and videos taken during the safari and buy them if you like.
